Welcome New Client!

Welcome! Congratulations on taking that courageous first step. It's daunting and exhilarating, but I'm here to ensure a smooth start. So, where should we begin?

1) Schedule a consultation to ensure our vibes align and that you feel comfortable choosing me as your therapist to guide you through the tough times.

2) Once you've selected me as your therapist. Let's start working together and schedule your first session.

3) You will receive an email with a link to access the client portal and sign the initial paperwork.

Billing and Insurance

Currently accepting self-pay, HSA, and EAP. Payments are due at the end of the session.

I’ve partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits.

Mentaya is perfect if you:

• Have out-of-network benefits

• Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

• Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

• Want to skip the hassle of paperwork?

Here's how it works:

1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.co/inviteclient/nimaicounseling

2. Our practice will enter your sessions into the platform.

3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, including handling required paperwork, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.

It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted or a full refund of their fees.

Why don’t I accept insurance?

1) Pre-licensed therapists are typically unable to join most health insurance panels. However, Cigna (Colorado) has recently allowed a pre-licensed therapist to participate under their supervisor, provided the supervisor accepts that insurance. Unfortunately, my supervisor does not currently accept Cigna.

2) Health insurance may require a diagnosis, sometimes during the first visit. However, I take the act of diagnosis seriously and prefer to diagnose after a few sessions of working together. If you have any questions about using your insurance, feel free to ask during our consultation.

Sliding Fee Discount

As of July 2025, all slots are full.

Nimai Counseling is committed to ensuring all women access mental health services. To achieve this, I have implemented a sliding scale system to make therapy services available to women with lower socioeconomic status. As a growing practice, I have limited sliding scale slots available.

To be considered, you must complete an application form and provide evidence of your earnings. Please note that I require proof of income measured against the Federal Poverty Guidelines (http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty).

Cancellation Fee

Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you cannot attend your session. Failure to cancel within this time frame will result in full fee responsibility. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
